Pendorf Case: Term used to describe the investigation Allen Dorfman (Penetration of Allen Dorfman) who fronted for mob interests while controlling the Teamsters Central States Pension Fund.
Resulted in the convictions of Dorfman and Roy Williams, Teamsters President, and Chicago Capo Joey Lombardo. The case agent was Pete Wacks, Chicago FBI man who retired in 1997.
Dorfman's father was Paul "Red" Dorfman, the guy who brought Jimmy Hoffa to the attention of Murray "The Camel" Humphreys, winning Chicago mob support for Hoffa's rise as Teamsters Boss, when Hoffa was but a Detroit Teamsters upstart.
It was Hoffa who put Allen Dorfman as head of the Central State's Pension Fund, in return.
When Dorfman was sentenced and sent to Marion federal prison, he received letters of recommendation from two Cook County Judges, Joseph A. Powers, and Daniel A. Covelli, a protege of Chicago's First Ward mobster Pat Marcy.
