Reggie Robinson:

Reggie Robinson from National Power Rodding (company owned by friend of mobster Angelo Fosco) was brought in to local 2 as a field rep at the suggestion of Ed Sadlowski who was handling the grievances of National Power Rodding members as a consultant to local 2.Like most  appointments to business agent positions in most unions, a thorough background check on the Robinson appointment was not done.  (Burke and Tomasik were at least vetted by law enforcement authorities)  Many people, including the author, are  disappointed in Reggie for associating on the same slate with Ricky Caravetta and Leonard White. "Birds of a feather flock together, they say". You know a man by the company he keeps is another saying that comes to mind.

Leonard White was Matassa's sergeant at arms and did Matassa's bidding. Leonard White voted in favor of paying all bills without giving the members a chance to approve the expenditures. Leonard White always voted with Matassa. Caravetta was Matassa's hand picked replacement for Matassa's job as business manager of local 2. (See minutes of April 1999 nomination meeting)

Jim McGough was curious as to what kind of effort had to be put forth in job searches in order to constitute "working at the calling" a condition for eligibility for office. So he protested Reggie's nomination. The Election officer reported to McGough that Reggie responded to one job listing off the out of work list while collecting unemployment compensation. He filled out an application at Walsh Construction Company. He did not get the job. In view of his self admitted inexperience in the construction field, that is not surprising. How can you know the construction industry if you never worked in it is a question I ask. He does not know the industry in my opinion and is not qualified in my opinion to intelligently and wisely represent the members of local 2.He definitely does not possess the financial skills and money handling skills a union secretary-treasurer must have. He will not possess the skills, in my opinion, to operate a computer based record keeping system. Ask Reggie if Jim McGough gave him free advice about internet access. He now uses att athome to browse this site at McGough's suggestion.

Reggie was fired by Local 2 trustee Dalton in October 2000. Reggie told McGough the initial reason Dalton provided for firing Reggie "was because Reggie did not know how to handle a very typical problem BA's face in the field. The second more compelling reason was that Reggie received thousands of dollars in checks and  put the checks in the safe rather than the bank.

Ask Reggie if this is true (which it is)  when he has the balls to ask you to vote for him or his slate which includes Matassa supporter Leonard White, "a Cook County employee but not a Cook County worker" as they say.

If local 2 members want to vote for a Secretary-Treasurer who deposits  checks in safes and not in banks, they can.

They can also be idiots because there is no law against being an idiot.

The local 2 Coalition Slate considers most laborers to be smart, smart enough to detect  corruption. mediocrity, selfishness and inexperience in candidates for union office. Reggie admitted to "being an inexperienced construction worker" He got fired because he could not handle local 2's money properly. Enough said about Reggie Robinson who can not get a job as a laborer..

Laborers for JUSTICE does not want any more inexperienced union officers running local 2. If John "Brass Balls" Burke and Kenny Construction Company Eddie Erb on The Local 2 Coalition slate get elected, Jim McGough will provide to local 2 members free internet access, free training in computer operations so members can read every document of local 2 they are entitled to read, see, and/or copy. The Local 2 Coalition Slate believes in providing to local 2 members open access to all records of local 2.We want informed members, educated members, members who know their rights as well as their responsibilities as union members. What we published so far is just a start. Elect the Local 2 Coalition slate and you will get all the information you ever wanted but were never allowed to get by people like Matassa, Leonard White, Mike Christopher, etc
